Upper Coopers Creek is designed for a young family moving to the Byron Hinterland on a beautiful site situated adjacent to the picturesque Goonengerry National Park.
The project involved renovating the existing timber farm house for a professional couple with two children working from home. A high-pitched gable extension frames the view of the garden and creek to the west and a deep outdoor roof shelters a dining area from the hot summer sun. Materials include timber weatherboard, galvanized steel for a trellis walkway and hardwood timber detailing.
We aimed to recycle and reuse as many key features of the existing homestead as possible including original hardwood timber flooring.
